Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure proper orientation and secure mounting.

  1. Shut off pump: Turn off pool pump and close all valves.
  2. Mount valve: Position valve on filter tank, aligning bolt holes.
  3. Connect plumbing: Use appropriate PVC fittings for inlet and outlet connections.
  4. Secure mounting: Tighten bolts evenly to prevent leaks.
  5. Connect waste line: Attach backwash hose to waste port.
  6. Install pressure gauge: Thread into pressure gauge port.

WARNING! Ensure pump is off during installation. Use Teflon tape on threaded connections.

Operation Positions

Rotate handle to desired position for different filtration functions.

  1. FILTER: Normal filtration through filter media.
  2. BACKWASH: Reverses flow to clean filter media.
  3. RINSE: Cleans plumbing after backwashing.
  4. WASTE: Bypasses filter for vacuuming to waste.
  5. RECIRCULATE: Bypasses filter for chemical circulation.
  6. CLOSED: Shuts off flow to filter (pump off only).

CAUTION! Always turn pump off before changing valve positions.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Handle positions control water flow direction through the filtration system.

Position Indicators: Clear markings for each function with positive locking detents.

Pressure Monitoring: Install gauge in pressure port to monitor filter condition. Normal operation: 10-25 PSI. Backwash when pressure rises 8-10 PSI above clean pressure.

Connecting to Filter System

Standard installation on sand filters and DE filters with compatible mounting flanges.

  1. Verify compatibility with filter model.
  2. Apply pipe sealant to threaded connections.
  3. Hand-tighten, then use wrench for final quarter turn.
  4. Ensure waste line is properly secured and directed to drainage area.

Tip: Pressure test system before final operation.

Backwashing Procedure

Regular backwashing maintains filter efficiency and extends media life.

  1. Turn pump off before changing valve position.
  2. Rotate handle to BACKWASH position.
  3. Turn pump on and run for 2-3 minutes or until sight glass runs clear.
  4. Turn pump off and rotate handle to RINSE position.
  5. Turn pump on and run for 30-45 seconds.
  6. Turn pump off and return handle to FILTER position.
  7. Turn pump on for normal operation.

WARNING! Never operate pump in BACKWASH or RINSE for extended periods.

Maintenance & Lubrication

NeverLube design requires minimal maintenance. Periodic inspection recommended.

Care & Cleaning

Use mild soap and water for exterior cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals.

CAUTION! Do not use petroleum-based lubricants on O-rings. Use only silicone-based pool lubricants if needed.
