Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging and remove all protective materials.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect to power cord and machine.
  3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, wind bobbin following threading diagram.
  5. Insert bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread unwinding counterclockwise.
  6. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always unplug when not in use.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow threading guide.

  1. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path from spool to needle.
  2. Use needle threader: Push lever down and hook thread through needle eye.
  3. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring up bobbin thread.
  4. Select stitch: Turn pattern selector dial to desired stitch.
  5. Adjust settings: Set stitch length and width as needed.
  6. Begin sewing: Place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, and press foot pedal.

CAUTION! Always raise needle to highest position before changing settings or removing fabric.

Stitch Selection

  2. Adjust stitch length for straight stitches (shorter for finer fabrics).
  3. Adjust stitch width for zigzag and decorative stitches.
  4. Test stitch on scrap fabric before starting project.

Basic Sewing Operations

Follow proper threading and setup procedures.

  1. Raise presser foot and position fabric under needle.
  2. Lower presser foot and hold thread ends.
  3. Start sewing slowly, guiding fabric gently.
  4. 4. Use reverse button at beginning and end of seams.
  5. Raise presser foot and remove fabric when finished.
  6. Cut threads using built-in thread cutter.
  7. For free arm sewing: Remove accessory compartment for sleeves and cuffs.
  8. For darning: Lower feed dogs and use darning foot.

WARNING! Never pull fabric while sewing - let machine feed fabric naturally.

Buttonhole Function

4-step buttonhole process for perfect buttonholes every time.

  1. Mark buttonhole position on fabric.
  2. Select stitch pattern 13 (first buttonhole step).
  3. Sew left side: Stitch forward to desired length.
  4. Select stitch pattern 14: Sew forward for bar tack.
  5. Select stitch pattern 15: Sew right side backward.
  6. Select stitch pattern 16: Sew forward for final bar tack.
  7. Cut buttonhole opening carefully with seam ripper.

Practice: Make test buttonhole on scrap fabric first.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Unplug machine before cleaning.
  2. Remove needle plate and clean lint from bobbin area.
  3. Use small brush to clean feed dogs and tension discs.
  4. Oil machine as indicated in manual (sparingly).
  5. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.
  6. Cover machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Never use compressed air as it can force lint deeper into mechanism.
