Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove machine from box and place on sewing table or desk.
  2. Attach foot controller to machine and plug into power outlet.
  3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, follow threading guide, wind bobbin.
  5. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, insert bobbin with thread unwinding counterclockwise.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always turn off power when threading or changing accessories.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow basic threading procedure.

  1. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path on machine.
  2. Use automatic needle threader: Push lever down to thread needle.
  3. Draw up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you.
  4. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern.
  5. Adjust stitch length/width: Use control buttons as needed.
  6. Begin sewing: Press foot controller gently.

CAUTION! Always use proper needle for fabric type. Replace bent or damaged needles immediately.

  1. Attach buttonhole foot and position fabric.
  2. Select buttonhole stitch on dial.
  3. Place button in buttonhole foot to measure size.
  4. Lower presser foot and start sewing.
  5. Machine automatically sews all four sides of buttonhole.
  6. Reinforce beginning and end with reverse stitches.
  7. Use seam ripper to open buttonhole carefully.

WARNING! Always test buttonhole on scrap fabric first. Keep fingers clear of moving parts.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Clean lint from bobbin area after each project.
  2. Oil machine as directed in maintenance section.
  3. Replace needle regularly (every 8-10 hours of sewing).
  4. Clean feed dogs with small brush.
  5. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.
